The Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company had the rare opportunity to meet one of their community to whom they responded to his home on one early Sunday morning for a medical emergency. One of our residents woke up one Sunday in February not feeling well. After much discussion with his family, it was decided that he should go to the hospital to be evaluated. A call was made to 911 which alerted the Harris Hill Vol Fire Company and Twin City Ambulance Paramedics. While first responders were enroute the residents' condition worsened and required a family member to start CPR. The fire company and Paramedics arrived moments later.
The patient went into cardiac arrest twice before he would arrive at the hospital. The teamwork between the family, Twin City Paramedics and the Harris Hill Vol Fire Company helped save his life and allowed him to meet those that were there that day.
Harris Hill Fire Chief and Emergency Room Physician Dr. John McNamara applauded the teamwork. It was the quick actions of everyone that allowed us today to come together and meet once again.
