A mother duck and her ducklings needed some help after getting themselves stuck at Harris Hill Elementary School this week. Each year, ducks lay eggs in the school’s center courtyard. This year, some of the ducklings got into a storm drain.
With the help of the Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company, SRO Jill Pezzino and Buildings and Grounds staff, eight ducklings were safely rescued from the storm drain. The flock of ducks were then given an escort to move into and through the school building.
The ducks were able to make it through the building and continue on their journey.
Safe travels!
